Primrose Organic Farm are looking for someone to help run their thriving organic market garden near Hay-on- Wye on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The position is for the period April until October 2018 - accommodation and food is offered plus £50/week - there is a good learning environment too.
Primrose Organic Farm is on 2 acres, we grow a wide range of vegetables on permanent narrow beds and in four polytunnels, with rows of fruit trees and bushes between areas (alley cropping). We practice no-dig gardening where possible and very rarely use any machinery (we have a rotavator).
The land has been certified organic and producing food for local people and businesses for 30 years.
Our names are Tamsin and Glenn and we will be leasing the market garden from the new owners. We have both been here for four years and are hoping to work with someone who wants to seriously explore what it's like to be a market gardener.
A drivers licence is desirable.
Primrose Organic Farm is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and a bike ride away from the river Wye for a refreshing swim. We generally eat together during the working week and also have a dedicated space for meditation which anyone can use at any time.
If you are interested in sustainable food growing we would love to hear from you.
